Description: WWII GERMAN 1939 BERG & CO. BAYONET, SCABBARD & LEATHER FROG TIGER STRIPED HANDLE BEAUTIFUL This is a beautiful bayonet. It has the factory blade, a pointy tip, and lots of great markings. Very clean overall. The blade has the vast majority of the factory finish with no patina that I can find. The only finish wear is from inserting and removing the bayonet from the scabbard. The finish has a nice shine to it. The wood handle is secure with very little surface wear. There is a line on the bottom edge of the right grip. It might be a hairline crack or just the way the wood is. It has a great tiger stripe pattern. The pommel looks great. The push button works as expected. Stamped: BERG & CO. 39 4539 d. The pommel has a very nice finish and looks great. It has 2 WaffenAmt stamps. The guard looks great and has some minor finish wear. The scabbard is in great condition with very minor finish wear. No dings or dents. Fully functional. Stamped 1969 and a small Waffenamt on the tip. The leather frog is very nice with minor surface wrinkling and no cracks that I can find except for some minor ones in the upper strap assembly. Strong stitching. Strong rivets. Dated 1940 and the manufacturer is hard to read with the wrinkling. I have taken several pictures of this. This is a beautiful set.
