Description: This WW2 US Army USGI M1941 OD3 Mountain Rucksack Combat Field Pack & Frame is in fair condition and shows signs of age, service and poor storage. The original ink contract stamp is present and indicates production was carried out by Varied Mfg. Co. Inc. in 1943. The light OD3 Green canvas shows staining from both poor storage as well service though no serious rips, tears or holes can be found. Mild oil stains appear in the areas surrounding the leather pouch straps on each of the three external pockets. The leather straps show expected age but are secure ands till function as intended. Rust stains can be noted in some areas that make contact with the frame. The tension strap at the mouth of pack's storage area has had several grommets come loose, they are still attached to the tension strap and have been left as found. The shoulder straps and the lower back pad are in good condition and show less age and wear than the pack. The leather pocket that the top of the steel frame is secured in is in good condition, free from oil damage and appears to display the initials of a pervious owner inscribed in ink. The same initials are also seen on the pack's top cover flap. The steel frame shows expected signs of age and wear but no evidence of damage from abuse are present. A detectable amount of original green finish is still present. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of condition.
