First sent as a holding force to shore up the Italian defence of their African colonies, the formation fought on in Africa, under various appellations, from March 1941 until its surrender in May 1943. The units best known commander was Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. These M40 Afrika Korps Shorts are brilliant reproductions of the original DAK shorts worn by German soldiers in North Africa during WW2. The shorts come with a 4 button fly plus 2 additional internal waist buttons for fastening, along with an integrated belt and attachment points for braces. Pocket wise, there a 2 frontal, open hip pockets, a smaller watch pocket and 1, button closing pocket on the rear right hand side Alongside an M40 DAK shirt, these DAK shorts are a must for any serious reenactor.
