Description: Original WW2 era military map of GERMANY entitled "SCHWEIDNITZ" - now known as SWIDNICA in POLAND. This map was printed in the 1930's by the AUSTRIAN military mapping services in Vienna (Wien), which then fell under German control when the country was 'annexed' in 1938. Soon after, it was ink stamped by hand with the heading...."Nur für den Dienstgebrauch" (equivalent to a "RESTRICTED" British military map). The map was clearly captured by the Allies, and eventually found its way to the map library of the M.O.D.'s 'Directorate of Military Survey', before it was finally removed from the British military archive with a 'CANCELLED' ink stamp. From a large collection recently sold off by Edinburgh University - hence their own ink stamping to margin. (From time to time, the government distributes excess stocks of Allied maps, along with captured enemy examples, to various national institutions such as libraries, museums, universities etc.) Has never been folded, so will be shipped rolled in a cardboard tube. Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, documents, photos etc. International Shipping will be carried out by eBay's Global Shipping Programme, who set their own postage rates and do not routinely combine shipping. (This is calculated by eBay's automated systems and is completely beyond my control.) Seller's Ref - U1216
