Description: DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION Up for sale is a bound series of photographs taken during the first part of the second world war by Japanese forces. There are forty photographs loosely mounted on individual cards with a caption description on the back of each card. The cards measure 10 3/8" by 7 3/8" and the photographs are about 7 3/4" by 5 5/8". Everything is in Japanese and I can't read Japanese, but there were some translations included with this lot but I can't validate they are correct. The translations indicate they were printed on December 1 1942 and Published on December 8 1943 and they were published by Yomiuri News Paper Company. The writing on the cover I think is Left panel - Yomiuri Newspaper, middle panel - Big East Asian War Report of Photo Album and the right panel - 1st Anniversary - Promulgation of Imperial Rescript. Most are in great condition but, one mount is damaged as shown. A couple of the others have either tape holding the description on the back or there are some ink smudges. Also note the condition of the flaps on the folder. They are damaged and in a delicate condition. There is soiling and wear and some damage to the folder on the outside. Please ask me for photos of these and I will send them as I did not include them as I ran out of photographs.
