Description: Another Wingnut Wings kit offered for sale from mystash/collection, this time a 1/32 Sopwith Snipe Fighter (late). A labor of love by filmmaker and aviation enthusiast Peter Jackson, the research and planning that went into Wingnut Wings' kits was almost unmatched, and the kits are well-regarded by modelers and World War One historians alike for their quality, engineering, detail and accuracy. Perhaps the only thing they failed to do was offer their kits in smaller scales. Wingnut Wings' web site was still up last I checked, but you can't actually place an order with them any longer (though I recommend you download their instruction booklets, which are chock-full of photos, detail, color data and information). With luck, perhaps we'll see these kits produced again one day, but until then Ebay and the odd hobby retailer with a remaining supply are your best bet for acquiring one. Released in 2013 by Wingnut Wings as an update of their earlier (2012) Snipe release but with added parts, there's an overview of the kit on Scalemates here: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/wingnut-wings-32054-sopwith-snipe-late--195543 Wingnut Wings web site is still up, and there's a detailed overview of the kit there with archival pictures of the prototype, as well as illustrations of the kit's contents (decals, instructions, sprues, etc. ) and photos of examples of completed models. I'd love to post some of their photos and illustations here in my listing, but don't want to take liberties with their IP. You can find the listing here: http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/product?productid=3087 For photos of the completed model - and some inspiration - there's a beautiful build by Jeff Brundt on iModeler here: https://imodeler.com/2014/01/wnw-sopwith-snipe-late-version/ And another in postwar markings by Jan Gabauer on LSP here: https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=2748 I really kind of hate to let these kits go since they were so highly regarded (and still are) but I'm getting older and recent life and family changes have impressed on me how scant the time is, on the one hand, and how large my collection of unbuilt kits is on the other. I bought thiskit from my LHS a few years ago when they were having a clearance on the last supplies of Wingnut Wings kits, and it has remained stored safely in my climate-controlled basement. I did remove the shrinkwrap to examine the kit contents but, as can be seen the accompanying picture, all the sprues, decals, accessories etc. are still in their individual packaging within the kit and remain undisturbed. Although favoring the more experienced modeller, the kit is reputedly an enjoyable and straightforward build and makes an attractive, accurate and well-detailed replica when completed. All purchased kits are very carefully packed in clean andsturdy materials so that my customers remain happy and my conscience untroubled. I can ship domestically via US Post Office Express Mail. I can ship internationally, but I will invoice for shipping in that instance.
