General Motors built more than 4,000 GP models for more than 45 railroads over the next 12 years. This locomotive is so versatile that many railroads rebuilt them and continue to use them today, more than 58 years later. In keeping with the tradition of the first GP9 locomotive, Williams Electric Trains has made these diesels true to scale size and detail. These brand new, unused powered and dummy diesels were made in 2006 (as seen in their last catalog) and represent the freight division of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. They are still wrapped in their manufacturers' original plastic and are in their manufacturers' original storage boxes. The storage boxes have Styrofoam inserts to protect them during transit and when not in use. They were removed from their manufacturers' original shipping cartons for photo purposes only. They have ZERO track time and are in brand new, unused condition. I have included reprints of the operating and maintenance sheets for both the powered and non-powered units. The life and performance of these locomotives depends, to a considerable extent, upon proper care and lubrication of the motor, trucks and other moving parts. As with all new and used locomotives, I do recommend a thorough cleaning and complete lubrication periodically and before initial use. A small amount of oil and lubricant, properly applied, goes a long way towards long life and great performance.
