They almost always leaked and even Ford manuals warned mechanics not to tighten fan belts too tight. The excess slack allowed belts to slip and lose contact with the generator and water pump pulleys, causing more cooling and power problems. Pulley quality is heavy duty with correct width to accommodate the wide v-belt. 5/8" in use. The water pump casting appeared perfect / just like original, however, had a plug hole in the casting was not on original pump. This didnt matter because tapered plug was provided and installed #no leak#........... Pros: good quality gasket Yes, I recommend this product.
