WH40K Rogue Trader Beakie Space Marines Lot, 12pcs built

Description: This listing is for a set of 11 vintage Rogue Trader era plastic "beakie" Mk6 Space Marines, and one plastic Space Marine Scout Sergeant from the Advanced Space Crusade board game that I built as a regular Space Marine (with a "beakie" helmet, and standard Bolter and backpack). These were some of my very first WH40K miniatures (the others being the contents of the original Space Hulk board game). These are also the last remnants of my "beakie" Space Marine collection. I built most of these around 1990. A few were built a little later or reworked along the way. All of the regular Space Marine miniatures have a penny glued to the bottom to add a little weight for better balance on uneven tabletop terrain. These miniatures were originally primed with rattle-can enamel white primer, then later airbrushed with acrylic olive drab. I recently soaked them in isopropyl alcohol and scrubbed them with a toothbrush in an attempt to remove all of the paint, but only the acrylic airbrush paint came off so far (although a little bit of the primer has come off with subsequent soakings and scrubbings). Other than my previous attempts at paint removal, these miniatures will be sold "as-is" as shown in the photos. At some point I had reworked my Sergeant to give him an era-appropriate Storm Bolter. One Marine has the Storm Bolter from a plastic Librarian (from the Space Hulk: Genestealer expansion) and a custom made Chainfist using the saw arm from an epic scale ork stomper (Marine with Terminator Honors?). I built one Marine with an upside down magazine on his Bolter to simulate the Grenade Launcher from the artwork in the Rogue Trader book. I built one Marine with a metal Conversion Beamer that I picked up loose at a game convention flea market table. I built one Marine with a plastic Heavy Flamer from a Space Hulk Terminator. The rest are built as typical Space Marines or as special characters for other games that I was playing at the time (the Space Marine with only a pistol was supposed to be a medic). These have always been stored indoors in a foam-lined miniature case. I haven't played with these particular miniatures in about 20 years, so I think it's time to pass them on to another enthusiastic gamer or collector. Otherwise, they might end up in the hands of some relative's kids and suffer the fate of so many other action figures - buried in the backyard after playing with them in the mud...
