The Chevrons were introduced by the Venetian beadmakers in the 1400's. The oldest are a 7 layer variety. Sometime around the 1600's the Venetian bead industry went to a 6 layer with the colors Red, White & Blue. This bead is highly prized around the World. Note: When shopping for expensive beads Please purchase what you like not for the value. Many on ebay are misidentified either by mistake or many time by deception. Make sure you have a size reference also wither a known object such as a Penny or Ruler; or size stated in description. We have an actual store have been in the Bead business since 1980. We also collect old beads and research. We also work with Museums and have been commissioned to do "Bead" projects and Displays.SIZE varies due to being individually made but average about 19mm diameter x 19mm long
