Peep Sight Clerance Cut This stock has been used and shows normal scuffs and wear from use and storage, faded black sharpie number on the butt, but this stock is in great solid, useable, condition, any light cosmetic flaws will be easily covered with a propper re-finish. It has clearance cut for a receiver mounted peep sight, it looks like the vintage Lyman model 48 shape but I don’t know for sure. It is designed for a flattened and re-welded front tang on the bottom metal, it was a common sporter design to take some of the clunkiness out of the rifle, a standard un-modified military bottom metal will NOT fit on this stock. It also features an ebony wood forend tip and grip cap and sling swivels. This is a tight grain walnut stock that will give decades of service for your favorite sporterized hunting rifle. The LOP measures approximately 13” long and the barrel channel measures about .695” at the end of the forend, the barrel channel appears to be inletted for the original military contoured barrel. Look Closely at the Photos and read the description carefully, I will NOT accept a return if you do not understand the difference in a modified sporter bottom metal and standard military bottom metal.
