This frog paperweight was made in a Red Slag. Fred W. Wilkerson started work at Fostoria in 1958. He began making glass paperweights in his free time at Fostoria in 1975. His son, Fred S Wilkerson joined Fostoria in 1981. After Fostoria closed in 1984, they opened their own glass studio in Moundsville, West Virginia. They have worked side by side to continue the family tradition of making exquisite glass. Their paperweights have attracted many collectors thru the years. This is just example of wonderful American made piece of glass. Many of their paperweights are pictured in the book- Fostoria Glass: Scarce, Unique and Whimsies by Juanita Williams on pages 164 to 176. The frog paperweight is in good condition with no chips or cracks. We are a nonsmoking home/shop and there are no odors on this piece. Please check out our other items!
