Vtg ROYAL ALBERT KENT Bone China Tea Cup Saucer England 1950s Mark Gilt Handle

Description: VINTAGE ROYAL ALBERT KENT TEACUP & SAUCER This listing features an elegant English bone china teacup and saucer by Royal Albert, in beautiful condition. This is the ‘Kent’ pattern with 1950s hallmarks. Note the heavily gilt handle which is scarce now — later pieces are plain with a single gilt line. This set would be perfect in a professional or gentleman’s space where a traditional floral design would not be suited. The cup measures 3 inches in diameter (excluding the handle) by 3 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 1/2 inches in diameter by 1 inch deep. Both pieces are translucent, as all fine bone china should be. The gilt line work is all crisp and vibrant, which is not easily done by hand on a ribbed form. The gilt around the scalloped rims of the saucer is perfect and the cup has slightly worn spots but they are not obvious. There is nearly invisible crazing along the cup’s exterior verticle gilt lines but I can only see it in the close up photos. The cup interior is not crazed nor is the saucer. They are marked underneath with the Royal Albert crown back stamp, “Bone China” in script, and “ENGLAND”. Both pieces have the same hallmarks with the same artist marks. This set comes from my grandmother’s collection, which was mainly displayed and rarely used. I was fortunate to grow up using china every day. Fine English bone china is no longer manufactured but is widely copied in the secondary market.
