Description: Offered is this ceremonial sword and scabbard, decorated with the cross and crown markings of Freemasonry's Knights Templar. The steel blade is engraved on both sides with various knight and crusader emblems and other ornamentation. The original owner's name is also engraved on the blade, Ozzie L. Wilson (see photo #4). The owner's initials are also imprinted in black on one side of the white grip of the hilt (see photo #2), which appears to be Bakelite or some other early synthetic. A cross is imprinted in black on the other side. The ornate cross guard is decorated on one side with the Templar's cross and crown symbol; the red cross appears to be glass or possibly a clear synthetic. The pommel features a knight's helmet. The steel scabbard has three ornate raised design sections, two of which feature a red cross that also appears to be glass or a clear synthetic. The only marking I see other than the owner's name and initials is the number "55", stamped into the metal of the scabbard in several places. I don't know who made the piece or when but it certainly appears old enough to be vintage and may be an antique. The sword is approx. 35 1/4" long and the scabbard is approx. 31 1/4" long. Both the sword and scabbard are in good condition. I see no damage to the metal. Much of the blade is shiny, but there are many spots of light surface corrosion, and there is also some light corrosion in some spots on other areas of the sword, also. Most of the scabbard has a mirror-like shininess but there are also some areas of light corrosion on it, as well, although fewer than on the sword. Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my eBay store!
