vintage Cosmopolitan Little Miss Ginger 1950s DOLL 8" dk hair, blue eyes, dress

Description: From a local estate auction: a genuine Little Miss Ginger doll. This was made by Cosmopolitan Doll in the 1950s, before 1957. I am NOT a specialist in this area; the best information I found online is this: "1954+ Cosmopolitan Ginger doll, 7 1/2-8″ tall, all hard plastic, early dolls wigged, painted upper eyelashes, large sleep eyes usually blue, closed mouth, jointed body with straight non-walker legs with a wide stance. The Ginger dolls are unmarked." This doll stands about 8" high; she has dark brown hair and blue sleep eyes with long eyelashes. Her feet are flat and she has the body of a young girl. I found no markings. Her hair is in a rolled bob and there are a few hairpins in it keeping it in place. She is wearing white undies with picot edging and a pair of white plastic shoes with molded bows. The dress has a label that says "Fashions for Ginger, Cosmopolitan Doll & Toy Corp., Jackson Heights, N.Y." The dress is made of blue fabric printed with white flowers; the bodice is unlined while the skirt has a white taffeta underskirt. The skirt is very full and has a white band around the bottom. It has two snaps at the back, as shown. The dress is amazingly good quality and is clean and fresh with no condition issues. I found this doll in a red (doll) steamer trunk along with lots of other outfits - some for Little Miss Ginger, some for Ginny. I have tried to separate them, and I'm listing the other clothes for Little Miss Ginger in separate listings, so please have a look at all of them!
