Description: FEATURED IS A RARE VINTAGE 1940 POSTCARD (dated by # in border) OF A GROUP OF GOLFERS & SPECTATORS AT THE 18TH TEE OF THE GOLF COURSE AT THE ICONIC HOMESTEAD HOTEL IN HOT SPRINGS, VIRGINIA. HARD TO BELIEVE THIS RESORT HAS BEEN GOING STRONG SINCE IT OPENED IN 1766 ... TEN YEARS BEFORE THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION!! We have sold views of the Hotel & its Golf Course over the years ... but never this view. Sales records indicate no others have sold in the marketplace over the past decade or so. PC "new" to extent it is New Old Stock, has not been used in any manner, and remains in MINT condition. This pristine postcard comes from the Curt Teich Archives. The card has been in our possession for approximately 15+ years ... long before the Curteich digitally archived images found their permanent home with The Newberry Institute. At the time of our acquisition, the Lake County Discovery Museum in IL was the custodian of the company's records, having served in that capacity since 1982.
