Description: All my Otis elevator memorabilia came from San Francisco where I worked for 30 of my 40 years in the industry. They all came from elevators that were either remodeled or replaced entirely and most were headed for the dumps when I rescued them from oblivion. This 5/8" X 13" brass ID plate was mounted on a cast iron piece on top of the controller (that I wished I had removed also) and identifies the controller by Number: 20102, style: OVAB, volts: 230, cycles: 60, phase: 2, and Spec.: VAB101600A. This one comes with the three original 8/32 X 1/4" round head brass screws that I forgot to take a picture of them. Whoever did the stamping omitted the Amps and HP for whatever reason but that happened a lot on these plaques. I haven't been able to determine the date from the number but believe it to be in the early 1900s. I have one plaque from 1926 that has six numbers instead of the 5 this one has.
