Description: Offered here is a pair of vintage Wiss Model "C" 9 inch drop-forged steel pinking (zig-zag cut) shears or scissors, for right-handed use, stamped Newark, N.J. USA, and finished in full bright nickel plate. These scissors date from the late 1930s, early 1940s, and feature 3 1/2 inch long blades along their 9 1/8 inch overall length. These truly represent the height of the art of scissors manufacture in terms of design, quality, durability, workmanship, finish, and attractiveness. Teeth measure 3/16 inch center to center. You won't find better scissors, so if you don't buy these, buy another pair like them! The pair is sharp, clean, not rusted or engraved, and cuts very well. There is no tag or securing wire with these, but they come with their original care and use insert and box. Note that the paperboard of the box is in only fair shape--tearing, faded, scuffed, scratched, stained at one corner, and foxed. Pair weighs 7.8 ounces (238 grams).
