Description: ***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The FHF 908 automatic movement runs significantly fast over a weak several hour power reserve period. After winding the crown the watch needs to be gently shaken and spun face down until the seconds hand fires up, requiring considerable effort and repeated tries to get going. Both the day and date wheels roll over although the date wheel is temperamental. A complete overhaul is required.***********This seldom seen vintage 1970's Wedgefield Classic Series day-date diver has a near pristine silvery gray sunburst "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial and the original tritium, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The black bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with insignificant signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS STEEL CASE AUTOMATIC WATER RESISTANT SWISS MADE WEDGEFIELD CLASSIC SERIES." The inside of the case back is stamped "WEDGEFIELD" followed by "WATCHES INC,""SWISS" and "27326." The crystal needs to be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "WATCHES INC" stamped FHF 908 automatic movement with quickset date runs, albeit significantly fast, and the day wheel rolls over at 12 am while the date wheel can be temperamental. After winding the crown the watch needs to be gently shaken and spun face down until the seconds hand fires up, requiring considerable effort and repeated tries to get going. Occasionally the date wheel gets hung up when being manually rolled over. This kink doesn't happen when using the quickset option. The quickset date function works flawlessly by pulling the crown out to the final position and then turning it clockwise to move the date backwards and counterclockwise to move the date forward. The time is set by pulling the crown out to the first position. After winding the non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions and moving the watch in the above mentioned ways to jump-start the seconds hand the movement gained several hours over a weak approximate 5 hour power reserve period. A complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. A complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
