It reads "Take Home A Quart of Walter's Keg Beer and enjoy that flavor of yesteryear". Sponge measures about 3 3/4" x 1 1/4" x 1/2" and is still in very good condition. and Made in France and marked so. It is in great overall shape for its age. I believe it is one of those vintage sponges that expands when put in water. It may have gotten a little moisture over they years, but it has definitley never been used.
