Description: This is a delicate, semi-transparent, front coated paper with a luster finish. It is 8 LB weight, colored canary yellow and was commonly used to type multiple copies of a document in a typewriter. The thinness of this paper was to help with typing multiple copies (duplex printing), as a layer of carbon paper could be placed between the sheets to create a duplicate copy on the next page. The textured backing helped prevent the carbon paper from slipping, and the smooth front allowed for good ink adherence. Thin paper required less force to strike the typewriter keys through the multiple layers. Due to the semi-transparent nature of this paper, it can also be used as tracing paper. The volume savings rate is based on lower overall shipping cost and reduced use of packaging materials. Condition Notes: Good vintage condition with some possible tanning/age darkening at the edges. It depends on the lighting - the edges have a slight curl in them that causes them to cast a shadow on the edges. I’ve tried to capture the edges and textures in the photos under different lighting conditions. Photographs are in various lighting conditions including natural sunlight and/or a 90+ CRI 3000K LED.
