Description: This unusual Turkmen (Turkoman) choker-necklace was handcrafted during the mid-1900's for the Ersari sub-tribe of Turkmenistan along the Old Silk Road trade routes of Central Asia. More measurements are listed below at the end of this description. Its wide flexible neckband is a series of amulet-links that were joined together, interspersed with larger beaded-pendants. Traditional charm-dangles hang freely below, swaying together with movement. The cotton-lining and simple ties are more recent. This necklace has a warm age-patina and a few wear-patterns. Please note that age-patina reflects the light when photographed, so items look brighter in images than they really are.
