Description: For sale one of a number of vintage blacksmith and silversmithing hammers and equipment i will be selling over the next few weeks . this particular hammer is a fabulous vintage double face silversmith blacksmith tinsmiths coppersmith rounding hammer in fabulous fully useable condition one face has some minor Grooves in it both will require a re-polish to produce a shiny work surface. one side has straight cut edges (see photo) indicating its use for something specialisrt . The widened end handle is likely to be ash and has no splits or other damage and is held firmly in place with two bails. Carved initials on one end . These originally came from a silversmiths producing large hollow ware items and as can be seen one hammer face was protected to an extreme !No makers mark measures approx 26cm long the head ia 8cm wide with the work faces being 3.2cm in diameter weighs 409g fabulous useful size hammer for silversmithing or tinsmithing !
