Description: Up for auction is a VINTAGE TALKING BARBIE w/ BROWN HAIRED SIDE PONYTAIL & PINK SWIMSUIT - MUTE #1115 (c) 1967 Mattel, Inc. U.S. & Foreign Pats.Pend. Mexico. Her right knee clicks and holds 3x, left leg clicks 3x & holds 2x. Her hair does not appear to have been cut nor does she appear to have any missing hair plugs. She does have some loose strands of hair and some strands that have broken off. Her hair has been washed, styled and new pink ribbons added. Her eyelashes have been rerooted. Her pull string pulls out but she is mute. She has no chew marks, no nose nips, no green ear, no head splits. She may have scrapes, scratches, light staining &/or dents on her body as expected for a 50-year-old doll. She comes with a pink swimsuit. PLEASE NOTE: I do not know her history as I am not the original owner. I added blush to add color to her face, otherwise the makeup is original. Her eyebrows have faded with age.Her ears are not pierced. Vintage talking Barbies were notorious for their legs breaking off shortly after purchase. This Barbie's legs were broken off when I purchased her. I have repaired her hip joints utilizing vinyl screws. Her legs do remain fragile but can be bent and straightened. Use care when moving her arms and legs. When applying the vinyl screws I likely destroyed the talking mechanism within the Barbie so if you purchase her with the intention of restoring her talking mechanism you probably can't. Additionally if you decide to take her torso apart you will likely destroy her replaced joints. Her hot pink swim top is in fair to good condition. Her swim top is of unknown age and may have fraying, holes, runs, tears, fading, stains, torn seams, and torn hems. Her swim bottoms have been made by me, are a different color pink in the top and are new. She was no doubt purchased as a toy and played with by children. She is not for the collector looking to purchase a doll in mint condition. Stand is not included. I have been repairing & restoring Barbies for over 25 years & spend many hours on each Barbie. I do my best to describe all flaws & repairs but may have missed something so please examine the pictures closely and ask questions as my vision is not as good as it used to be.
