Description: Up for your consideration we are offering this very nice scarce early Sonora Californio Mexican fancy silver horse headstall and bit. Dating from the time when Mexico was called Californio prior to the 1847 Mexican war. Headstall features silver hammered conchos and tooled leather. Conchos feature wreath with eagle in center clutching a rattlesnake, and are nicely done. Condition is excellent with very light use wear. Lower jaw concho measures 3" in diameter, middle concho 2 1/2" and temple concho 2" Headstall measures 20" long, and 26" including bit.
