Description: For sale is a 1992 vintage commemorative glass orb created by OBG Glass in Lynnwood, Washington near Seattle. It is signed OBG 1992 on the bottom. The orb has a cosmic space theme and was created for Seattle Telco for a award ceremony in Seattle. The Orb is etched Seattle Telco Night of Appreciation. It is etched JLM (J.L. Marshall & Associates) on one side (which I assume was the recipient). The term "OBG Glass" refers to "Ornamental Blown Glass," a glassblowing studio based in Lynnwood, Washington, which is near Seattle. The studio gained recognition for its blown glass pieces, including decorative items like paperweights. Established artists such as Mariusz Rynkiewicz and Jack Pine worked there early in their careers before moving on to establish their own studios. The studio contributed to the vibrant glass art community in the Pacific Northwest, which is known as a global hub for glass art, driven by institutions like the Pilchuck Glass School and artists such as Dale Chihuly. The Orb is about 3 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. It is in excellent condition. See photos for details.
