Description: This vintage postal coin bank features a combination lock made in the USA by the Federal Equipment Company. The inside of the door is stamped "FEDERAL EQUIPMENT CO. 1960". Crafted from solid wood (appears to be oak), it has a unique charm that makes it a great addition to any collection. Great item for collectors of still banks, piggy banks, vintage banks as well as postal and stamp collectors! Really, it would be perfect for anyone in collectibles and antiques. Makes a great gift as it doesn't take up a lot of space and best of all, it is fully functional! The lock and door work and there is plenty of interior space for lots of coinage or other treasures. On the bank bottom is a sticker with the combination and its origin from "Bear Tavern Antiques" in West Trenton, NJ. Measuring about 6 inches tall and about 4 3/4 inches wide and deep, the bank is in nice condition considering its age, with some minor indications of wears. The number on the glass for the postal door is "109". This appears to be the original decal number associated with the box. However, it would not be difficult to remove the "109" and replace with numbers, letters and/or symbols more meaningful for you! (There is a paper backing behind the number on the glass. Presumably, this was placed there to protect the number and glass from coinage being dropped in -- or maybe just to hide how much coinage is in it! In any event, it is easily removable if not desired.) See the many photos for details, this is the exact item you will receive. Shipping to you by USPS (Ground Advantage or Priority Mail).
