Description: These are absolutely gorgeous vintage speakers made by Accoustic Research. They are the 2a line that was manufactured from 1960 to 1969 I believe. They have their original grille cloth, emblems, and parts as far as I can tell. The cabinets are beautiful Walnut and look stunning. The condition if the exterior is very good. There is one piece of string that has pushed out of place on one of the grille cloths. Look closely at photos. I left it as is for the new owner to decide to cut it or weave back into the grille cloth. Otherwise the grille cloths are great. The emblems are in great shape. The cabinets were refinished with a pecan stain and had Polyurethane applied on top of it. We were going to keep these speakers but changed our plans for the room we were using them for. I was the one who refinished them because there was wear to the finish and I wanted them looking new. There were a few dings, but not many. I included a photo of the biggest ones. There still are a few dings on edges and corners, but not noticeable and hard to find. On the back of both is just one of the cards you'd find on the back. The one with the serial numbers is missing from both unfortunately. We tested the speakers briefly and they sounded great to our ears, but we are not experts, just people who enjoy music and quality sound. If you are buying these you are buying them knowing that they do produce sound that is quality, but we have not taken the cloth off to look behind or do any work. As these are vintage we can't guarantee anything in the future. We bought them from the original owners who seemed to love and cherish them and take care of their belongings. If you buy these you are accepting that the future of them is uncertain and you might want to have an expert service them. I would prefer local pickup in Orem, Utah, but if that's not possible I will box each one individually very carefully and ship them in two separate boxes.
