Vintage Oil Painting Beacon Marina Gloucester, MA by Elice Pieropan (1931-2013)

Description: this is a gorgeous impressionistic oil painting done by listed Western Massachusetts artist Elice Pieropan (1932 - 2013) - it is a painting of the Beacon Marina in Gloucester, MA as it looked in the 1980's - at that time during the summer months, the Beacon Marina was a "beehive" of marina activity with pleasure & fishing boats coming & going & being repaired & repainted on a continuous basis - this painting shows a number of boats on the top of the dock area being stored & repaired & some boats down in the water ready to be used for pleasure trips & for fishing - the painting shows the main office building & docks & stairs in shades of off-white & gray colors that contrast artistically well with the blue & red colors as well as the off-white colors of the boat hulls - Elice Pieropan graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a Master of Fine Arts Cum Laude - she was a lifelong artist who painted landscapes, seascapes & some portraits - she lived most of her adult life in Ashfield, MA & was a close friend & art student of the great impressionistic artist W. Lester Stevens (1888 -1969) who lived in nearby Conway, MA - she was a member of the Rockport Art Assoc. & the Deerfield Valley Art Assoc. as well as the Bridge of Flowers Artist Guild - she was also the co-owner of the 11 South Gallery of Bernardston, MA with her daughter - the painting measures 18" x 24" sight size, & is in very good vintage condition with bright & bold colors - it is greatly enhanced by its original gilded wooden frame which measures 22" x 28", & is also in very good vintage condition - to save on the cost of shipping, the buyer may pick up the painting at my home in Swanzey, NH -
