Description: This is a fantastic and visually striking Vintage Old Mid Century Modern Abstract EXOTICA Women Beauty Oil Painting on Masonite, depicting the expressive and surreal portraits of several beautiful women, a few of which are adorned in exotic ethnic tribal jewelry and face coverings. This artwork is rendered in vivid and expressive kaleidoscopic colors and brush strokes and exemplifies the profound vision of a talented and inspired mid-century painter. There is some cryptic cursive writing at the lower edges, which might be French, but I cannot decipher it. Perhaps you know what this writing means? Most exceptionally, there is also a very nice painting on the verso of this piece, depicting a Medieval inspired court bard, wearing a multi-colored vest and holding a small stringed instrument in his hands. This verso painting is signed and dated: "Cooper 59" in the lower right corner. I could not identify which particular artist with this surname created these paintings, but perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? This is a very large and impressive piece, at approximately 32 1/4 x 56 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 24 x 48 inches. Very good condition for age, with some mild scuffing and edge wear to the original vintage period wood frame. Due to the large size of this item, S&H costs will be unavoidably high.
