Description: Authentic sterling silver Mexican ornamental knife. This vintage knife features a handmade sterling silver blade. The blade measures slightly over three inches in length with a greatest width just over 5/8 inch. Towards the base of the blade, on opposing sides, is a bezel set lightly carved oval shape aventurine quartz. The essentially rectangular shape knife handle is hand carved aventurine quartz. The handle has a pattern of stylish and ornamental incisions and geometric lines. Stamped where the blade joins the handle is "Sterling", denoting the metal content, and "Mexico", the country of manufacture. There is also a series of hallmarks on the other side of the hilt I can't decipher or make out. From the end of the handle to the tip of the blade measures slightly over five and 1/8 inch. This knife has not been cleaned or polished. Shows age-appropriate wear but overall, nice estate condition. The sterling blade is slightly bent but adds a bit to the character of the piece. This unique and interesting knife would make a wonderful gift or self-purchase. Will make a great start or addition to your collection.
