Description: This auction is for a Vintage Styled by Mele Square Ballerina Trinket Jewelry Box. The box measure about 3 1/2" 3 1/2" square. The box appears to be in good condition. I don't know much about a Mele Jewelry Box. It appears to be old but not sure how old. I have tried to found something on line but haven't found one just like this one. The Mele Company started making jewelry boxes in 1912. The box is made of some type of metal and has a silk tapestry on the top of a ballerina. The sides have raised carvings set on a white background. The white part feels like porcelain or enamel. The box weighs about 12 oz. The inside is lined with a red felt. The red felt has pulled away on two sides. I feel like it could be glued back but I will leave that up to the new owner. Please see all photos and do not hesitate to ask questions.
