Description: Extraordinary coat made by Eddie Bauer. Vintage is late 1960s. Made for Arctic conditions. Will keep you warm at -70 below. Cotton/nylon fabric with goose down insulation. The coyote fur on the hood helps deflect the wind and lessen the wind chill effect. It also helps keep snow off your face. The closure system has a zipper pull with an inside wind flap and has buttons to fasten the outside wind flap. It has two large front pockets with button flaps and two large inside pockets. In addition, there are two hand-warmer side pockets. The down loft is thick and evenly distributed throughout the jacket and down the sleeves. The sleeve lining has elastic cuffs to keep out the wind and cold. Eddie Bauer designed similar coats for high-altitude pilots on bomber runs in WWII. Size is 40. I wear a size 41R suit, weigh 200 and am 6 ft tall. The coat fits me perfectly with a tee shirt and wool shirt underneath. This jacket has been in ideal storage conditions since the mid 80s. My father wore this coat whenever he had to do insurance business in the Alaskan Bush. No smells or age-related defects. The last four photos show the only defects on the entire coat three stains and one abrasion which can be fixed with a spot of super glue.
