Description: THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a vintage M.C. Gregory (Los Angeles) alto saxophone mouthpiece. The M.C. Gregory brand is most commonly associated with saxophonist Paul Desmond of the Dave Brubeck quartet, and writer of the jazz classic "Take 5". The 'diamond logo' Los Angeles model is made of a resin material. It has flat inner side walls and an oblong chamber. This one bears the serial number 17774. It is stamped 2A on one side, and 18 on the other. The 18 represents the middle size of three (very similar) chambers. The tip opening measures .052", which is very close by modern standards. You'll have to use a very stiff reed, or have it opened up to a more contemporary tip opening. This mouthpiece is in very good used condition. The facing is perfectly smooth, and original. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. There are no cracks or other damage. The logo/markings are nice and clear, and there is virtually no ligature scratching on the exterior. This piece has been cleaned/sanitized. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks again for looking! CElot-1
