Description: This Vintage Madame Alexander Christmas Noel Doll is gently used and in very good condition. She measures approximately 12.5 inches tall. Noel comes with a doll stand and original box. She was cast in 1990, limited edition of 5000, made exclusively for the New England collectors society. the first porcelain madame alexander's company made and only after she died. during madame's lifetime she vowed to only make unbreakable dolls because she grew up playing with the broken dolls her father repaired for customers in his shop in the lower east side of nyc. that part i already knew but after madame passed in 1990 her company decided to make a porcelain doll. madame would never have called it a toy because it could break, which she was set against because of her own childhood sadness of broken dolls. so this was an adult collectors doll given out at a convention in 1990 in winter.
