Description: Offered here is a gorgeous set of Kronheim & Oldenbusch (K&O) bookends: “Hope”Circa 1932These are based on a well-known oil painting by George Frederic Watt in 1886. In his painting, our musician is depicted,sitting on a globe, blindfolded, clutching a wooden lyre, with only one string intact. She sits in a hunched position with her head leaning forward towards to hear the faint music she makes with a sole remaining string. The paint and patina on this set is very good condition.The K&O shop mark is on the backside of each piece.Construction is gray metal with a painted finishTake a good look at the photos and all of the intricacies of the casting.Great condition.
