Description: Stunning vintage Japanese traditional wood kokeshi doll. Incudes box and accompanying document. Measures about 27 cm tall, weighs about 295 grams. Made by award winning and influential artist Shido Shozan (1932-1995). This doll has a small shallow crack at the back base of the neck (see photo), the doll is solid and stable. Kokeshi dolls are made of wood, hand made and hand painted. Being vintage items, kokeshi may have minor imperfections, fading, dents, scuffs and / or scratches due to age and wear.
