Description: Vintage Frank B Wire Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod 8’ 2/2 Penta Rod F.B. Wire. This is a very rare split bamboo fly rod made by F.B. Wire. It’s a penta 5 sided rod and measures 8’ long. Frank build these one of a kind rods from 1930-1960 for just friends and family. Know one knows for sure how many he made but believed to have made around 150 rods, according to the classic fly rod forum about 20 rods are accounted for not including this one! So very scarce rod to be had. Frank was the Oregon state fish and wildlife commissioner in the 1930’s. I actually live about 5 minutes away from where frank wire lived in Corbett Oregon and I was lucky enough to acquire this rod locally. I’m not in a big rush to sell as it’s a rare bird. Thought I’d like to sell to someone who will appreciate the history of this rod! reasonable offers considered! But until then I’ll be catching trout! :) Please note Rod is missing hook holder. this rod comes with a vintage cloth rod cover and a vintage Fenwick aluminum rod case not pictured! Thank you!
