Description: This sweet clear glass Fenton duck figurine with sea green eyes is embellished with hand-painted flowers. The familiar oval with the name Fenton that is part of the mold is on the duck's right side near the tail. The artist who added the fanciful floral decoration signed the piece on the bottom, "Handpainted by W. Kibbe". The two most prominent flowers are in shades of lavender, while other flowers are white with touches of pink, and pale green foliage pulls it all together! It is from Fenton's line of collectibles and giftware products, and dates from the late 1990s. The piece is just over 5" in length and is 2 1/4" wide.Sadly, Fenton Glass Company, which had been in business since 1905 and had been the pride of Williamstown, West Virginia since it moved there in 1906, closed its doors in 2011. Many of Fenton's molds were acquired by the Mosser Glass Company of Cambridge, OH after Fenton's demise, and you will sometimes see these pieces come up for sale.
