Description: This is a rare and stunning vintage 1980s wedding gown designed by Elizabeth and David Emmanuel who designed Princess Di’s wedding gown If you look at the last three pictures you will see a similar gown that is in the permanent collection at The Met The silk bodice is trimmed with silk flowers and it closes up the back with couture snaps and frog closures . The attached tulle skirt has silk flowers sprinkled all over it and it is longer in the front than the back . Just like the example in the Met this has a tulle petticoat skirt that is comprised of a silk satin underskirt and layers of tulle This stunning Emmanuel wedding gown is in excellent condition , the petticoat skirt has 3 small tears that get completely lost in the layers and one of the net under layers has a very slight dinginess that won’t show when worn ( see pics) I acquired these two pieces on separate occasions from the same couture collection and I believe the petticoat was stored separately because the main part of the wedding gown is pristine The dress has 3 layers of tulle and the petticoat has 3 layers of a softer tulle , the silk under skirt has an additional 3 layers that start at about knee level so this dress is voluminous ! This has no size label but it is small, approx measurements to the top piece are bust 34 waist 28” and length approx 60 . The waist of the petticoat is 25” and the hip area to both is very full Please feel free to ask questions about this gorgeous n piece of fashion history !
