Description: Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Vintage FAO Schwarz Wooden Dollhouse with Electric, Original Room Paint Sadly, kids, so many people don't bother to even read a listing that we now have to put 'READ' in the title! SO- Please note- This listing is for the HOUSE only! The many many contents you see in the other photos are also for sale- in other listings! Our consigner had fun filling it with period 1930s-40s furnishings, and we thought you'd like to see the house in all its glory, but make no mistake- NO furniture, accessories or dolls are included in this listing, though they are for sale in other listings! This beautiful and rather rare late 1940s FAO Schwarz home has so many originals- the original cheery paint (wear, but no scribbles!) in both interior rooms and the exterior, the original acetate printed windows, the doors, and best of all, all the electrics! There are no bulbs for us to test it (but they are the standard, older, small screw-in bulbs), so it's untested though it does look to be in working condition. The house measures 37" long, 21" wide and 27" tall- big, but not too big! And this is the home of your grandparents' Cottage Cozy dreams- just look at those Craftsman style pillars and the deep front porch! We think there was once a railing on the top of the porch, for there's a door leading to it- and we wouldn't want little dollhouse children tumbling off the edge! We are not sure if there was ever a frontage or not, as two of the rooms go straight through on both sides (the living room and master bedroom). We do know that the roof is a replacement; our consigner purchased it without a roof, and added this one-sided roof in the mid 1970s; we suspect the original roof was nailed on, as the attic, with its wiring, looks like it wasn't meant to be used originally (but who doesn't want to use an attic for more stuff?). We love the stairs' wooden railing, and the details of all the rooms, with fun circular arched doorways and the happy paint colors everywhere and the faux tiles in the kitchen and bathroom- so cheery, and so much room! ++ please note- we have priced this far lower than the actual value of the house, in part because it is rather large to ship. Package weight is approximate, and YES we do reimburse any shipping overages on dollhouses! We will ship this as economically as possible, so note that the shipping estimate is probably higher than it will actually be! Please check our other listings for the 1940s Strombecker furniture, vintage accessories and 1920s bisque dolls you see- and yes we combine shipping! Measurements/Scale: approx 1" to 1’ scale or slightly larger, see ruler in photo (ruler not included in listing) Makers’ Marks (if any): FAO Schwarz written in atticMaterials: wood, acetate, metal, etcAge/condition: c1940s or so eras; slight wear as seen and as to be expected and described above; preowned Vintage, preowned, sold as seen; photographs are part of the description. Kindly Take a Moment and Read This Before Bidding: Remember, you agree to these terms the moment you bid- even if you didn't read them! Marionettejilly is not a big ol' corporation. We are actually pretty nice folks, with an interest in antiques, fighting upstream against inflation and the economy just like everyone else. We sell mostly vintage and antique items, with wear and the ravages of time as to be expected. Do not expect our vintage items to be in new or like new condition- many of our items are fragile, played with, and many are over 100 years old. Many of our items have been in storage for years, so if you are allergic to dust, or sensitive to certain scents or smells, we do not recommend purchasing vintage items. In the rare event that there is a problem with an item, just sit back, take a deep breath, and tell us about it calmly. We have not set out to scam you: we try hard to be accurate with descriptions- but we're human, and might have missed something that’s important to you. Use your own good common sense, ask questions before an auction ends, and expect an item to have a unique patina and history all its own- with imperfections inherent in antique pieces! Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 5 pm, Eastern Standard Time. We cannot answer emails unless they come through the Ebay message system- this protects both parties. Please do not expect a response during evening or weekend hours- with any luck we are out doing something fun, far far away from the computer! We regret Marionettejilly no longer accepts returns We do not entertain requests for partial refunds for any reason whatsoever; please do not ask. We never end auctions early: this is unfair to other watchers and bidders. Our shipping represents not only postage but also time, gas, packing materials, and the Final Value Fee that Ebay charges to shipping. We do not barter about shipping once an item has ended. We ship most items anywhere in the world, and yes, we will combine shipping on multiple wins. Payment is due within 3 days of end of auction. ABOUT “ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED” complaints and vintage items: when you purchase a vintage or antique item, it is never going to be in new or perfect condition, and cannot be expected to be so. We have seen an unfortunate, but increasingly common, tactic crop up: thin complaints, always accompanied by a request for a partial refund, saying that an item is 'not as described'. When buying something preowned, it's easy for a less than honest buyer to pick a flaw out of the air and attempt to secure a partial refund over imagined or exaggerated 'imperfections'. If someone is looking for a way to get money back, sure, one can always find something, anything at all, despite any seller's carefully written description. So if there is anyone out there who is even considering employing this tactic, please pass us by. And, as a final note to the patient people who have bothered to read everything so far: Sorry if we sound crabby. Sometimes people can be so petty and unreasonable it can break your heart. We've had a run of really awful experiences this season- let's hope it ends soon, before we lose the rest of our hair, our jolly perspective on life in general, and our much-needed sense of humor!!!
