Description: Hello neighbor , This 3 pound cross peen hammer is in excellent condition . The face of the hammer is clean and smooth , no nicks , no scars , no mushrooming . It has a “US” stamp in a circle that indicates it was probably a military issue hammer during WWII . It also has a stamp of “88” , of which I do not know the significance , and a “3” indicating it’s a 3 pound hammer . There’s no rust on by the hammer head and it has a great old metal patina to that looks good . I can’t say for certain if the handle is the original one for this hammer but it is in good condition and is tight in the eye of the hammer . There is a small crack under the head on one side but the handle appears to be very solid nevertheless . This is a great old shop hammer that will be a welcomed addition to your hammer collection , for every day use or just to display ! You won’t be disappointed with this piece !
