Description: I have here an old Columbian Cat No. 203-1/2-M2 combo Bench Vise. This vise has 3-1/2” wide jaws and weighs approximately 36 lbs. It is about 14-1/2”in length when fully closed. This vise has taller jaw towers and pipe jaws as an added bonus. Both set screws have been replaced for the pipe jaws. Columbian vises are very popular and have been around for a long time. They stopped producing vises years ago but many are still floating around and are being used to this day. This particular vise has been stripped, cleaned and oiled to remove all layers of old paint and rust to expose the craftsmanship that these vises were known for. This one is in very good condition for its age, especially considering most of these were purchased to be used hard and often. No cracks or breaks were observed and it has very little play/slop and backlash. Other than a few small dings and dents from light usage, this vise looks very well taken care of. This vise has plenty of life left and would be a great addition to anyone’s workbench/shop. Just like everything else, vises are not made like they used to be, so it’s becoming harder and harder to find these solid tools in good working order. This vise was shelved in a dehumidified room so it will need to be greased and oiled before it’s put back into service. Thank you for viewing and don’t hesitate to message me with any questions you may have regarding the vise. Will ship to the lower 48 and Canada.
