Vintage Collectible 1950’s Popeye Spinach Can Jack-In-The-Box by Mattel

Description: A mid-century 1950’s classic Popeye Spinach Can Jack-In-the-Box by Mattel, Inc. Made in the U.S.A. Reads: “Mattel, Inc. Los Angeles Made in U.S.A. Copyright King Features Syndicate. Music Arranged by Ted Duncan. Stock no. 576. Patent Nos. 2,630,655, 2,504,666, 2,649,652 Patented in Canada 1951, 1953” Popeye, original pipe in his mouth, does pop out of the can when the lid is manually unlatched. The Popeye the Sailor Man song no longer plays. Made by Mattel, this toy is a rare find, a must-have for any vintage toy collection and a great addition to any Popeye memorabilia collection. The can is in basically good condition. The top of Popeye’s hat shows some signs of wear due to its age. There is a small dent and a few scratches on the box. The handle no longer place music nor unlatches the lid. Pre-owned by Seller for more than 67 years. Please refer to photos to better assess condition as they are the best indicator of condition.
