Description: Vintage painting by famous Chinese woman artist He Xiangning (1878–1972). It is a powerful image of a resting lion, an animal of great symbolism. Measurements: 12 inches wide x 14 3/4 inches high This painting belonged to my mother, and cannot confirm the age. The frame is worn. You could see by the images the painting has shifted from the matting, but the picture looks amazing, and would only take reframing to turn it into a wonderful "treasure of history." He Xiangning was a Chinese feminist, revolutionary member of Sun Yat Sen's, revolutionary movement, politician, renowned painter, and held many high ranking positions in the Chinese government. Note the painting is behind glass so you might see a little glare.
