Vintage American Standard Coral Pink Cast Iron & Porcelain Wall-Hung Sink ~1959~

Description: American StandardPorcelain Over Cast Iron Sink1959 Vintage This sink looks relatively good for its 65 years, with a nice glossy finish and virtually no corrosion to be found.It does however have multiple small dings in the porcelain, almost all of which are less than a tenth of aninch in size, and do not go past the pink outer layer. The horizontal area at the top of the backsplash hasthe majority of said dings. There are several scattered across the top and all are small. The vertical facewhere the faucet handles and spout reside is good overall. The faucet has some light pitting to thechrome, otherwise all looks fine. These parts were not recently tested with water, but the movementof the knobs feels like it should. The stopper is in good condition and the rod opens and closes itproperly. The area around the bowl has some light scratches, and one of the two spots where thechips go beyond the outer finish. This is located on the right, front corner. The inside of the bowllooks good, save for some light scratches and small chips. The sides and front of the sink arein good overall condition with nothing found to point out beyond a chipped spot on the right,rear corner where it meets the wall. The underside is nearly free of any rust. The area thatmay possibly be visible when the sink is installed was given a couple coats of white paintto clean it up. The rest was left as-is to show the lack of corrosion present. The areaaround the plumbing has been modified at some point. It looks like this was done tobe able to get to the stopper open/close mechanism. This does nothing to theintegrity and is not visible when the sink is installed. *** This piece is described in greater detail than is normally found, as the camera likes to hideblemishes with items such as this.
