Vintage 4 Dot Buck #110 Folding Lockback Hunting Knife, ca 1986

Description: Offered for sale is a vintage Buck #110 folding lockback hunting knife, made in USA probably ca. 1986. The Buck #110 made the folding hunting knife popular both as a sporting knife and as a work knife. Shortly after the Buck #110 came on the market, other knife manufacturers such as Case, Puma, Schrade, Camillus, Gerber, Browning, and others started making similar knives based on the Buck design. This knife features a stainless steel clip point blade, wood handle scales, and integral brass bolsters and liners. Prior to 1968, Buck knives were stamped "Buck." In 1968, Buck added "USA" to the tang stamp. By 1973, the model number was added, and by 1986, date code symbols were added to the tang stampings. Length closed is 4-7/8" and length open is 8-1/2". The blade has a tang stamp of "Buck ..110.. U.S.A." The knife is in fair condition overall, showing signs of normal use and carry. The blade appears to be at least 98% intact and has some minor nicks on the edge that need to be honed out. The blade locks up tight. There is some minor pitting of the brass bolsters. This knife is very well made, and will provide many more years of service with proper care. Or, it would be right at home in a collection of American pocket knives.
