They were created by San-X, a Japanese company that produced stationary products. Afro Ken was such a hit that they expanded into producing plushes, keychains and figurines, etc. Height: 8.5” tall.Tags: Both the hang tag and tush tag are intact.Condition Notes: Excellent condition. No dirt, stains or missing pieces. Photos are of the actual items for sale. This is an official, licensed item from Japan. It was a UFO Catcher Prize Toy made by San-X and Green Camel. It was not sold in stores, it was available as a prize in Japanese arcades for a limited time in 2000. Prize toys were big business in Japan throughout the 90’s and into the 2000’s. New series’ of prizes were released monthly. The items I am offering are from a private catcher toy collection that was pieced together and curated during this era. These items have spent most of the past 2 decades in storage, protected from sun and dust. Everything comes from a smoke-free home and ships from the US.
