Description: AUTHENTIC Soviet USSR vintage 1958 Major Parade MVD Police jacket. The jacket is extremely rare. The jacket has red edging on the top of the collar and the top of the cuffs (see pictures). The jacket was introduced by USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) order #10 on January 3, 1958. You can see reference in the book “History of Russian Uniform. Soviet Police 1918-1991”: description on pages 70-71, picture page 103. See pictures of the book. Coming with original Shoulder boards, collar boards with appropriate insignia, original Soviet Guards awarded badge. The owner of the jacket went through WW2 before he started service in the Soviet Police, Ministry of Internal Affairs. The jacket has the chevron for 3 wounds (2 for slight-red stripes and 1 for severe-gold stripe). This person was awarded with the following medals and orders: Order of Glory, Order of Great Patriotic War, medal for Valor and medal for capturing Budapest (see medal ribbons on the jacket). The uniform is made of wool and completely lined with cotton at Soviet Ukrainian Military Factory in 1958 (see detail of original tag). Russian size 50/4 equal to 40/Long US size. Sizes: chest 40”, Length of sleeve 25”, length of jacket 29”. Very good condition for its age: lining has some spots, small holes and some tears which were fixed by the original owner (see pictures).
