Description: Vintage 1958 Cissy in Pink Camellia Ball Gown & Velvet Stole This exquisite Madame Alexander 1958 Cissy is splendid in her iconic deep-pink Camellia gown and velvet stole, lined with the same fabric as her gown. Her gown has never been laundered as the pink dye used on it is prone to "bleed." Please see the photo of the full gown laid out and note that there are no spots, tears or stains. The velvet on the stole came to me badly faded (see final photo), so I was able to separate the lining from the velvet and re-dye the velvet toas close to its original color as possible and machine-sew the two pieces back together. I love that the stole is quite reversible and really appreciate the look of the lined side (see photo). I have given her a pair of white fingerless gloves, although, she was sold with none. I have elbow-length white gloves with fingers as well, if the buyer prefers. (Her "diamond" ring fits nicely over the gloves with fingers.) Her gown is adorned with the same type of snowflake rhinestone pin found also on Lady in Red as well as the Purple Torso Gown Cissy. She wears her vintage teardrop rhinestone earrings and a triple strand rhinestone bracelet made by thesewingdoll on e-Bay. She wears pink and white roses at her crown with a gold "birdcage" netting as in the photograph in Kiley Shaw's Cissy! Reference, Rarities, Restoration on page 109 (see photo). It slips under the curls at the top of her head and two hairpins attach it to her hair on either side. I decided to made a hot pink one as well so her buyer can choose. I think the hot pink birdcage looks spectacular on her! She wears newer MA nylons, topped with little violet bows, her original lace-trimmed panties and petticoat which retain their tight elastic at the waist, and a choice of MA white raw silk pumps or vintage gold elastic mules w/white base. She is a doll who is certain to delight the avid Cissy collector! Thank you for looking!
